Wurth

Wurth Australia - A history of success.
The Wurth Group’s core business is the global supply of fixing and assembly materials through an international network of companies. Our aim is to be the market leader in assembly technology and related products, and we achieve this by offering customers reliability, quality, and an expert and available sales force.
The Wurth Group is the life’s work of Reinhold Würth, who since inheriting the business from his father in 1954, has grown a two-person operation into an innovative and successful global group of 400 companies operating in more than 80 countries.
Wurth services about 3 million customers and employs 60,000 people globally, half of which are sales representatives, achieving sales of A$16 billion by the end of 2008.
In 1982, Wurth Group’s Australian subsidiary was founded as Wurth Fasteners Pty. Ltd, concentrating on automotive repair customers in Victoria. A focus on helping customers grow led to expansion for Wurth too, and within six years, sales consultants were working in Canberra and Sydney. By 1997 the re-named Wurth Australia Pty. Ltd. was operating in every state and territory.
Much of Wurth Australia’s expansion was achieved under the guidance of Eric Juebner, who was appointed Managing Director in January 1991 and led the business for 17 years.
The Metal Division was formed under Eric’s leadership and has been servicing steel and metal fabricators, machine and tool makers, maintenance departments and forklift manufacturers since. The Construction Division, which aims to be a partner to the many tradespeople in the construction industry by providing onsite experience and knowledge to the industry, also became part of Wurth Australia’s offering in this era.
With the organisation still growing rapidly, the warehouse and logistics operations were expanded from our initial warehouse in Braeside, Victoria with new warehouses in Balcatta, Western Australia and Ormeau, Queensland shortly after Brendan McCann succeeded Eric Juebner as Managing Director. Eric still serves on the Wurth Australia Board.
In 2010, the leadership of Wurth Australia was expanded. Serge Oppedisano in Melbourne, Alan Baldwin in Perth and Matthew Mayne in Brisbane joined Brendan McCann as directors and together the group provided leadership and guidance for the 400-strong sales force across Australia.
Today, the leadership team of Serge Oppedisano, Alan Baldwin and Matthew Mayne guide Wurth Australia to ensure expert service and quality products are delivered in a timely manner. This includes managing the ongoing growth and infrastructure of the business. Only recently saw the official opening of the first Wurth Pick up Shop in Muswellbrook NSW.
Together, the team strives to be a valued partner in our customers’ businesses and look forward to long and rewarding relationships with all stakeholders.
As a responsible corporate organisation that remains family owned globally, Wurth Australia are an active member of the community.
