Supply chain information | Wurth Products during Covid-19

Wurth Australia is part of the international network of Wurth Group Companies with offices and manufacturing facilities all over the world. Locally, we stock more than 20,000 active articles and have been off to a great start in 2022 with a service degree of 99.0% - one of the highest in our industry.

The Wurth Group remains in a strong position to provide a positive service degree to all our customers. At the same time, we understand that the impact of COVID-19 continues to evolve globally, causing implications on the supply of products, freight and distribution, staff shortages and the health and safety of our customers, staff and families.

Supply and Contingency Plan

Outlined below is an extract of our supply and contingency plan that covers a wide range of actions to mitigate supply chain impacts and aims at keeping our customers, employees and communities safe. Actions include but are not limited to:

 

Stock Security Measures

  • Wurth Australia operates three warehouses in Australia (VIC, QLD and W.A.) to mitigate the risk of potential delays in delivery.
  • We identified suppliers operating out of China and secured 180 days of stock early in the Coronavirus outbreak.
  • We approached our main suppliers from overseas to provide us with their contingency plans.

 

Product Delivery Measures

  • The current rate of coverage can satisfy our customers’ demands from anything between 30 days up to 180 days depending on the product range. For critical lines such as masks, each and every order is being analysed to ensure existing customers’ needs can be met.
  • As for all articles running low on stock, we choose airfreight deliveries over sea freight deliveries to minimise delays in deliveries to our customers.

 

Safety Measures | Office & Warehouses

  • Employees that have been in close contact with a confirmed case must self-isolate for 7-14 days (depending on their state or territory) and provide a negative test result before returning to work.
  • We have made our employees aware of the symptoms of this virus and informed them about necessary hygiene measures.
  • Guidelines to modify the frequency and type of face-to-face contact among employees and between employees and customers have been implemented.
  • Face-to-face meetings and conferences are to be conducted in accordance with COVID Safe guidelines.
  • Phone and video conferencing is encouraged.
  • Employees have been requested to stay at home when feeling unwell and be tested for COVID-19.
  • All our offices and warehouses are equipped with sufficient and accessible infection control supplies and their availability is checked on a continuous basis.
  • Our Human Capital and HSEQ (Health and Safety, Environment and Quality) Departments monitor the situation on a daily basis and suggest further actions if required.
