AS 5216:2018 is a ‘deemed-to-satisfy’ standard in NCC 2019.

The 2019 edition of the National Construction Code (NCC) officially became effective in May 1, 2019. The NCC provide the required technical requirements to ensure safety and performance in a number of workscopes in the design and construction of relevant buildings. Illustration 1 shows the regulatory framework to which the NCC is positioned. Different standards are referenced in the NCC. AS 5216:2018 is the Australian standard referenced in the NCC 2019 for the design of anchors in concrete.

AS 5216:2018

AS 5216:2018 is an anchoring standard originating from an industry initiative launched way back in 2012. Illustration 2 shows its development from 2012.
